Fork Hanger

Fork Hanger

The Fork clothing hanger is manufactured and handmade by the designer in WA State, United States.

Fork is created from a single piece of hand bent steel rod that is then cut down the center with extreme precision by using a water jet from a local aerospace certified factory in WA. This reduces the material almost half comparing to a traditional metal hanger. To get much smooth and accurate cut, it is critical to set up the right jig to hold the rod in place, and more importantly the combination of aggregate, PSI, and speed of the water.

I bent the hanger to shape by hand using custom jigs fabricated for each step of the bending process. To save on time during the production process hangers are soldered six at a time using another custom jig I fabricated. Lastly by hand I filed and sanded the silver solder joint smooth to create a seamless connection. After the production process the hangers are sent to my Gold plating supplier to be surface blasted and finished in 24k Gold.

My goal was to treat the common clothing hanger as a precious piece of jewelry with fine craftsmanship and to display the beloved garment you have at home or retail space.
